Drop-Off of Toxic Wastes Scheduled

Residents of Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and unincorporated areas of the Conejo Valley such as Oak Park and Lynn Ranch can get rid of toxic household wastes today.

Residents may drop off up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of toxic material--including paints, used motor oil and pool chemicals--at Thousand Oaks’ Municipal Service Center, 1993 Rancho Conejo Blvd., in Newbury Park. The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., but those without reservations are asked to arrive between 1 and 2:30 p.m.

Items such as tires, explosives, radioactive materials and infectious wastes will not be accepted.
