SUN VALLEY — A 21-year-old man died early Saturday after he was shot in the upper body in what police say was a gang-related dispute.
Krikor Telian was pronounced dead at the scene at Roscoe and Laurel Canyon boulevards, said Officer Jerry Sexton of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related, Sexton said, but authorities did not say whether Telian was a gang member or simply a victim of gang violence.
At 12:20 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 12100 block of Roscoe Boulevard, Sexton said. When police arrived, they found Telian lying in the street next to his car with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Investigators said the assailants fled the scene in a light-colored car.
No further details were available. North Hollywood homicide detectives were continuing their investigation late Saturday.
