District Might Shift Elementary Students
To relieve overcrowding at Walt Disney Elementary School, the Magnolia School District is considering sending some the students to Mattie Lou Maxwell Elementary School.
Maxwell’s attendance boundaries would be expanded to include the apartments on Webster Avenue, Assistant Supt. Rick Turrentine said at Monday’s board meeting. The affected students would move from a traditional school schedule to a year-round schedule.
The district will have a public information meeting at 7 p.m. Monday on the proposed change at Maxwell School, 2613 W. Orange.
