TODAY’S GAME

DODGERS’ HIDEO NOMO (2-2, 3.34 ERA) vs. PHILLIES’ MARK LEITER (3-1, 2.81)

* Update--The Dodgers never have been so happy to be in Philadelphia. Reeling after playing Atlanta, the elite of the National League, they now will play one of the patsies. The Phillies have scored only four more runs than the Dodgers. Darren Daulton, who moved to right field when Danny Tartabull broke his foot in the season opener against the Dodgers, is batting .319 and third baseman Scott Rolen has emerged as the leading candidate to end the Dodgers’ skein of five consecutive rookie-of-the-year winners. Rolen is batting .280 with nine RBIs and only one error. The Dodgers will be facing two of the Phillies’ best pitchers, Leiter and Curt Schilling.

* Thursday, 10 a.m.--Ismael Valdes (1-3, 3.14) vs. Curt Schilling (3-2, 3.80).
