DUCKS vs. DETROIT RED WINGS * Records: Ducks 36-33-13, Red Wings 38-26-18.

* Home record: Ducks 23-12-6, Red Wings 20-12-9.

* Road record: Ducks 13-21-7, Red Wings 18-14-9.

* Season series: Ducks, 3-0-1.

* Opponent top scorers vs. Ducks: Sergei Fedorov, 1 goal, 2 points.

* Duck top scorers vs. opponent: Teemu Selanne, 2 goals, 2 points.

* About the Ducks: They won their first playoff series in their first attempt and needed seven suspenseful games to subdue the Phoenix Coyotes. Home-ice advantage was among the keys to the Ducks’ victory in the Western Conference quarterfinals--as the Ducks have lost only once at home since Feb. 2--but Detroit will have the home-ice advantage in this series. In the regular season, the Ducks were one for 11 on the power play against the Red Wings and did not give up a power-play goal, killing off 13 attempts.

* About the Red Wings: Goaltender Mike Vernon, who played in every game of the Western Conference quarterfinals against St. Louis, was winless against the Ducks, going 0-3-1. Against St. Louis, the Red Wings were six for 41 on the power play. Undoubtedly, they will need more offensive production from Fedorov, who has only two goals in his last 25 playoff games. The grinding line of Kirk Maltby-Kris Draper-Darren McCarty stepped up offensively in the St. Louis series with four goals.
