Harry Paul Tatelman, 82, television and motion picture producer and studio executive. Tatelman, senior vice president of Universal Pictures, began his career as an agent for MCA when it was a talent agency. At Universal, he moved through such posts as special projects vice president and head of the literary department. He also worked for Howard Hughes at RKO Pictures and at Warner Bros. studios. Tatelman produced or co-produced about 300 hours of television, including the popular series “77 Sunset Strip” and “Colt .45.” His film credits ranged from “Underwater” in 1955 to “Stranded” in 1967, “Raid on Rommel” in 1971 and “Major Payne” in 1995. A graduate of Harvard, Tatelman co-founded the Tony Patino Fellowship Merit Award at three law schools--the University of California’s Hastings College of Law, the University of Chicago and Columbia University.
