Viacom Opening 1st Retail Store

Viacom plans to open its first retail store today in Chicago, selling items bearing such company brands as MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Nick at Night, “Star Trek” and Paramount Pictures.
The Michigan Avenue store is part of Viacom Retail Group and is the first of several Viacom flagship stores planned domestically.
Viacom also plans to open Nickelodeon stores in shopping malls. It is following the lead of such companies as Walt Disney Co. and Warner Bros., which have developed highly successful retail chains.
