Oxnard police are asking for help in identifying who may have stabbed an Oxnard man in the stomach and hand Tuesday.
Officer Robert Camarillo was on bicycle patrol in Oxnard at about 12:30 p.m. when he saw what appeared to be a large amount of blood on Raymond Mares, 24, of Oxnard, a passenger in a small gray car traveling east on 5th Street from Oxnard Boulevard. Camarillo gave the information to patrol officers, who caught up with the car at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
Doctors treated Mares for stab wounds in his stomach and hand. He was in stable condition, police said. Mares told police he had no information about the stabbing. The incident is under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Doug Wiley at 385-7605
