FONDA MEMORIES

I beg to differ with Patrick Goldstein’s remark that Peter Fonda’s early roles “weren’t memorable” (“A Rather Uneasy Ride,” June 8).
There was his film debut as the handsome physician in “Tammy and the Doctor” that had every 16-year-old girl falling in love with him; the gripping World War II drama “The Victors”; and let’s not forget “The Wild Angels” and “The Trip,” both directed by Roger Corman, who always had a knack for finding talent and developing it.
