Yaroslavsky to Field Questions at Meeting

Share

Zev Yaroslavsky, chairman of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, will field questions from residents of Encino, Tarzana and Woodland Hills at a special meeting Tuesday.

The event, which Yaroslavsky calls a “town hall forum,” is the fifth in a series of seven meetings around the San Fernando Valley. Two in the East Valley remain on the schedule.

The fate of the MTA’s subway project will be the forum’s main focus, according to Yaroslavsky deputy Laura Fay.

“When we started these, the topic was more general L.A. County issues, like welfare reform and the jail system,” Fay said. “But most of the questions have lately involved the MTA, so we decided to make that the focus.” Any county topic may be addressed at the meeting, Fay added.

Only residents of Encino, Tarzana and Woodland Hills who received a notice of the meeting in the mail are invited Tuesday.

The meeting will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Portola Middle School auditorium, 18720 Linnet St., Tarzana. For information, call (818) 880-9416.
