Job Services Office to Remain in Anaheim

Share

The state Employment Development Department job service office in Anaheim is staying there after all.

The office was previously targeted for consolidation with other Orange County EDD sites as part of the department’s plan to reorganize and streamline its operations.

“Unemployment in California is now done all by telephone,” said Joanna Rodgers, manager of the Anaheim EDD office. Internet services for job seekers have also helped reduce the need for large facilities, she said.

However, after hearing from the companies and individuals who use the Anaheim office, the EDD decided to keep a facility in the city--although the operations might be moved to a new site a few blocks away.

“The realization is we need to be here,” Rodgers said. “It is more important to meet our customers’ needs at this point.”
