Vigilantes Can’t Keep Pace With the Posse

Alan Burke hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning, but Tri-City had enough offense to defeat the Vigilantes, 9-6, in front of an announced crowd of 2,585 at Tri-Cities Stadium in Pasco, Wash.

Mission Viejo’s Burke was three for five with three runs batted in and teammate Chris Briones was three for four.

Starter Scott Singleton (5-8) got the loss for the Vigilantes, giving up six hits, six runs and six walks in five innings. Posse reliever Jeff Thomas (3-2) was the winner despite giving up five hits and three runs in two innings.

Brent Grebe got the save for the Posse (10-10). The Vigilantes fell to 9-11 in the Western Baseball League.

The teams play again at 7 tonight with John Homan pitching for the Vigilantes and Chad Rolish throwing for the Posse.
