Man Shot to Death in Bar’s Parking Lot
A 29-year-old Garden Grove man was killed early Monday in a Santa Ana bar fight after one of his rivals drew a gun and shot him repeatedly in the chest, police said.
Jesus Ortiz Velazquez was among two groups of men who began fighting inside Manny’s Bar about 1:40 a.m. and then confronted each other in the parking lot of the bar in the 1500 block of North Fairview St., according to Lt. Dave Petko.
Velazquez was dead on arrival at UCI Medical Center in Orange. Investigators were looking Monday for more information about his attacker, who was described by witnesses only as a Latino man, about 5 foot 2, wearing an orange shirt and baseball cap.
