With her generous smile and a simple request, a Newport Beach girl newly awakened from nearly three months in a coma has managed to touch Hollywood hearts.

As she made her public debut Thursday at a Santa Ana medical center where she is recovering from a car accident, Amanda Arthur quietly revealed her fondest wish for her 18th birthday on Sept. 11.

In careful, broken whispers and at the urging of her older sister, Amanda said, “I would like all the girls from ‘90210’ to come visit me.”

Consider it done.

You see, Aaron Spelling was watching.

The longtime producer of the popular Fox television show “Beverly Hills 90210,” quickly responded to Amanda’s wish by calling his Los Angeles office and asking his communications director to get things rolling.

“He wanted me to handle this,” said Nancy Bushkin of Spelling Entertainment. “We put him in touch with the girl’s mother.”

Amanda’s sister, Tiffani Arthur, said Amanda would be “completely thrilled” to meet the stars she refers to by their show names as friends. Amanda and a select group of classmates have for years devoted their Wednesday nights to watching the show together, her sister said.

“It’s absolutely her favorite,” she said. “When we talked about the birthday wish, right away she said, ‘Can Kelly come?’ ” referring to actress Jennie Garth.

But Spelling released a statement late Thursday saying he’d like to bring Amanda to Los Angeles instead, to meet the cast in person on the show’s set.

“We’re thrilled that Amanda has recovered from her coma,” said Spelling, whose daughter, Tori Spelling, is an original cast member of the show. “I talked to her mother, and as soon as she’s ready, we’re going to send a limo for her and bring her to our set.”
