Pat Broeske, co-author of “Down at the End of Lonely Street: The Life and Death of Elvis Presley” (Dutton), will speak at the Voices for Libraries fund-raising event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the University Club at UC Irvine.
Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 at the door. For reservations and information, call (714) 566-3060.
Introducing the Santa Ana author will be the Great Don-El (Elvis Presley impersonator Don Wilson of San Diego County, who experienced the generous side of Presley and who is mentioned in Broeske’s book).
The event is a fund-raiser for the Orange County Public Library.

* Maxine O’Callaghan, author of “In the Ashes,” will speak and sign at 1 p.m. today at Coffee, Tea & Mystery, 13232 Springdale St., Westminster.
* Evangelist Luis Palau, author of “God Is Relevant,” will speak and sign at 7 p.m. Monday at Borders Books and Music, 429 S. Associated Road, Brea.
* Margaret Maron, author of “Killer Market,” will sign at 1 p.m. Friday at Mystery Ink/Upchurch-Brown Booksellers, 384 Forest Ave., Laguna Beach. Maron also will speak and sign at 7 p.m. Friday at Coffee, Tea & Mystery, 13232 Springdale St., Westminster.
