* Re “How Government Can Help Boost Spirit of Volunteerism,” Orange County Voices, Aug. 10:
I disagree that volunteers should receive tax recognition. People volunteer because they want to contribute to society. If they receive tax credit, it would take the “spirit” out of their effort, not add to it.
