Crusher update--Sonoma County has the best overall record (54-32) in the league and has clinched the second-half title. The Crushers are second in the league in pitching with a 4.65 earned-run average and second in hitting at .298. Todd Pirdy is hitting .346 with 20 home runs and 67 runs batted in. Todd Genke is 12-4 with a 4.21 ERA and leads the league in victories. Frank Kristopher is 8-1 and leads the league with a 2.29 ERA.

Vigilante update--Mission Viejo ends its first season in Orange County with this series. The team is averaging announced crowds of 2,109, which is third best in the league. The Vigilantes struggled to play consistently and need a sweep of the four games to climb above .500 in the second half. This is the first time in three seasons the organization won’t be in the playoffs. Bret Barberie is hitting .333 to move into the league’s top 10. Alan Burke is at .321 with 16 homers and a team-high 74 runs batted in. Sam Taylor leads the team with 20 homers. Sunday’s games require two admissions.
