Mayor Plans Public Birthday Party Today
In perhaps his last official act as mayor, Chris Norby today will host a public birthday party for himself and another council member.
Norby began hosting birthday parties for council members this year in an effort to start a new custom at City Hall.
The party will begin at 7 p.m. in his office at City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. He turns 48 Wednesday, and Councilwoman Julie Sa turns 47 Dec. 15.
The party precedes the 7:30 p.m. council meeting, at which council members will vote on a new mayor for 1998.
Norby is inviting the public to another party for himself after the meeting at the Hub Cafe, 124 E. Commonwealth Ave.
