Divine Design is a gift from the shopping gods. The six-day designer showcase includes 40 interior design vignettes by local designers; a 40,000-square-foot marketplace with mini-boutiques of fashions and accessories for women, children and men from DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic and more; and a designer flea market filled with furnishings and antiques. Anything not nailed down (and probably some things that are) is for sale at discounts up to 75%, with all proceeds going to Project Angel Food and DIFFA/Los Angeles.

Mabou Mines, known for its innovative theater works, presents “Peter and Wendy,” Liza Lorwin’s adaptation of the J.M. Barrie 1911 novel, starring Karen Kandel, who plays all roles from Peter Pan and Wendy to Nana the Dog and Captain Hook. Kandel shares the stage with Japanese bunraku puppets, and providing music are fiddle virtuoso Johnny Cunningham and vocalist Susan McKeown. It’s at the Geffen Playhouse under the direction of 1997 MacArthur “genius grant” recipient Lee Breuer.

California Repertory Theatre’s acclaimed annual holiday production, “An O. Henry Christmas,” returns. The tapestry of tales by the author, including “The Gift of the Magi,” is set during a Christmas Eve gathering of down-and-outers, who find the true meaning of the holiday.

Social commentator, verbal improvisationalist and all-around wit Mort Sahl delivers comedy with a beat when he joins pianist Brad Mehldau and singer Ruth Price for a weekend’s worth of rants, raps and laughs set to jazz.
