SANTA PAULA — Donors are needed for the Santa Paula Rotary Club’s annual drive to collect food and toys for 400 needy families.
The program, held since the mid-1920s, is largely dependent on the community’s generosity, organizer Guy Cole said.
Various schools and churches are collecting toys and food. Drop-off sites include City Hall at 970 Ventura St. and Fire Station No. 1 at 114 S. 10th St.
Also, Mexican restaurant Familia Diaz, 245 S. 10th St., is offering $5 discounts to customers who bring in an unwrapped toy.
People wishing to give money may mail contributions to the Rotary Club at P.O. Box 809, Santa Paula 93060 or deliver them to Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, 948 E. Main St.
Organizers also are accepting requests for help. Families that wish to receive a Christmas basket that includes toys, a turkey, canned goods and fruit may apply from 9 to 11:30 a.m. today and Friday at the Santa Paula Boys & Girls Club, 1400 E. Harvard Blvd.
For more information, call Cole at 933-3623.
