Count Robbie Robertson among those who like the sound of U2’s “Pop” album. He’s working with several U.K. dance producers on a new album, including “Pop” participant Howie B. Others involved include Nellee Hooper (who has also worked with U2) and Bomb the Bass’ Tim Drummond. . . .

Paul Westerberg is expected to finish his first album for Capitol Records next month. Don Was is producing the set, which is due in the spring. . . .

The Fugees’ Wyclef Jean has remixed New Orleans hip-hop/brass band Coolbone’s version of the Bill Withers song “Use Me,” with Fugees associate John Forte brought in as guest rapper. A video was just shot in New York, featuring actor Richard Roundtree in a role resembling his most famous part--the title character in “Shaft.” The remix will be added to Coolbone’s recent debut album, “Brass-Hop.”
