Fallen Chief Inspires Cuban Exile March
Thousands of Cuban exiles marched through the streets of Miami vowing to press ahead with the work of influential Cuban American leader Jorge Mas Canosa to end Communist rule on the island, officials said. “It is a reaffirmation and an example that although we’ve lost one leader, we’re still going to fight,” said Yanik Fenton, a spokeswoman for Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), a Cuban American. Mas, the powerful chairman of the Cuban American National Foundation and a millionaire businessman, died in Miami on Nov. 23.
