Bobbitt’s Ex-Wife Accused of Assault

The woman known as Lorena Bobbitt when she was accused of cutting off her husband’s penis with a kitchen knife has been charged with assaulting her mother. Lorena Gallo, 28, who has used her maiden name since her divorce from John Wayne Bobbitt in 1995 and now lives with her parents in Woodbridge, was freed on $750 bail. Neighbors told police that Gallo’s mother, 49-year-old Elvia Gallo, was watching television when her daughter entered the room and started punching her with a closed fist, police Lt. Tim Rudy said. He said police did not know a motive. Gallo, if convicted, faces a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
