Competition Seeks U.S. Logo for Millennium
- Share via
The White House Millennium Council and the National Endowment for the Arts are joining forces to hold a once-in-a-thousand-year logo contest for the approaching millennium. The council is promoting projects “honoring the past and imagining the future.” Possible themes for interested designers: the rekindling of democracy, renewing a commitment to citizenship, and unleashing “the full creativity and intellectual potential of the American people as we chart our common future.” The competition is open to all American citizens and U.S. residents, including professional designers. A panel of professional designers will choose the final logo, whose creator will receive a designer’s fee.
