Consuela Buckwalter; Lifelong Ventura Resident
Consuela “Connie” Buckwalter, a lifelong resident of Ventura, died Sunday. She was 78.
Buckwalter was born Feb. 19, 1919, in Ventura. She worked as a salesclerk at J.C. Penney and for the Broadway department store. A member of the First Lutheran Church of Ventura, she was also active in the Ventura Emblem Club; Native Daughters of the Golden West; American Legion Auxiliary, Post 339; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Post 1679.
She is survived by her husband, Wilmer J. Buckwalter of Ventura; daughter, Mary C. Rosenberg of Penn Valley; brothers Joe Quijada of Ventura and Frank Quijada of Oxnard; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura.
