Cesar Chavez Family Members to Help Break Ground for Park

Relatives of United Farm Workers founder Cesar Chavez will attend the groundbreaking ceremony today of a park named in his honor in downtown Long Beach.
“It is an honor for the entire Long Beach community to have Cesar’s children and grandchildren join us in the celebration of the groundbreaking of the first new park in Long Beach in more than 20 years,” said councilwoman Jenny Oropeza.
Chavez’s son Paul and daughter Linda Rodriguez will participate in the ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. at the corner of Broadway and Golden Avenue.
