Lamoureux Lifts Cypress to Overtime Victory

A.D. Lamoureux scored 25 points to lead Cypress to a 92-88 overtime victory over Saddleback for third place in the Santa Barbara tournament Saturday night.

Cypress (7-6) outscored the Gauchos, 14-10, in overtime after being outscored in the second half, 41-35.

Frankie Floyd scored 19 points for the Chargers, including four three-point goals, and had 11 rebounds. Chris Killins scored 14 points and Mark Jensen added 13 points. Lamoureux made the all-tournament team.

Kenzie Weir scored 28 points for Saddleback (7-4). Marshall Freeman had 21 points, Vernon Jackson had 15 points and Yousof Etemandi added 13 points.

In the Alan Hancock women’s basketball tournament:

Golden West 68, Cerro Coso 57--Shauna Steward scored 34 points and Becky Fraser had 22 for Golden West.


In the Los Angeles Valley women’s basketball tournament:

Cypress 76, Mt. San Antonio College 53--Mary Perry had 15 points, seven steals and four assists to lead Cypress (9-4) to the consolation championship. Stephanie Durrett had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Chargers.
