Re Bernard Sanders’ column, “Let the Asian Tigers Fend for Themselves,” Dec. 10. I hope it will open up wide-range discussion on the cause of so many of our global and national woes, which should be attributed to the unfettered, rampant, devastating and prevailing economic system--capitalism!
Only when it is reined in by adopting strict laws that require profit sharing that benefits the poor, homeless, hopeless and the working poor, as well as laws requiring full disclosure of monetary activities, can we as a nation hope to see any light at the end of the tunnel.
In other words, democratic socialism for all is what is needed now, not just for the rich, which is what we have now.
