Youth Service to Change Age Rules
In an effort to better focus and consolidate its work with area youth, the Conejo Valley Youth Employment Service will change its age eligibility requirements for future participants.
Beginning Jan. 5, the age range of youths wishing to find jobs through the service will be changed from 13 to 25 years to 14 to 22 years.
The change came at the request of Executive Director Arlene Goldberg, who said the change will better allow the agency to help youths.
“It made sense,” she said. “Thirteen-year-olds cannot work on school days or get work permits and 25-year-olds are adults who already have these kinds of services available.”
All applicants now registered with the employment service will be served.
