Group Offers Tours of Library Archive
Students, scholars and the merely curious can get a guided tour of a community historical archive every week at the Mission Viejo Library starting Jan. 10.
Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., questions about Mission Viejo’s past can be answered from the bounty of artifacts, manuscripts, old newspapers and history books housed at the library in the Heritage Room.
Members of the Mission Viejo Heritage Committee, which cares for the archives, will be on hand to guide researchers through the records.
“Students will use [the archive] for homework, old-timers will want to review the history of the community, even newcomers will want to know what Mission Viejo was like 20 or 30 years ago,” said Norman P. Murray, a member and charter president of the Heritage Committee. “There’s a wealth of information here.”
For information about access to the archive, call (714) 470-3061.
