My Favorite Weekend

Between the Sheets. I have had a really packed year so on weekends sleep is the main thing on my mind. Rest and relaxation.
Nights on Sunset. I love going to Mirabelle. It’s a family restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. The food is terrific, the prices are right and the bar is most interesting architecturally. It’s unusual and appealing. Also in the Sunset Plaza area, I like Cafe Med.
Swingin’ the Clubs. I play a lot of golf. I am a member at the Wilshire Country Club and also play at a place called Crystal Air in Palmdale. If I’m not up early answering mail on Saturday mornings, chances are I’m headed for a game of golf. I also do a lot of tournaments. I have the Bob Hope tournament coming up.
Saturday Night. I can’t do anything, sorry. I’m busy. No, seriously, Saturday nights are pretty low-key. I like to eat at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and I try to hang out with my daughter who lives out here, Maura. She’s a decorator. We stay at home and talk and laugh a lot.
The Perfect Catch. I can’t stand shopping for clothes, but food is a different story. I go everywhere: Ralphs, Vons, Gelson’s, whatever. I’m always looking for the perfect ahi tuna steak, which I will grill at home or make sashimi with.
Keeping to Myself. I don’t go to the beach or on walks too much. It’s difficult. You can’t hide and you can’t have time to yourself. I stay close to home a lot so I can have my privacy, which lately has been getting more and more difficult.
