Camarillo Firm in Deal With Star Choice TV
California Amplifier in Camarillo has signed a supply agreement with Star Choice Television Network, a subsidiary of Star Choice Communications in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
California Amplifier will supply its down-converters on an exclusive basis for the Star Choice Direct Broadcast System, which was launched in April and covers all of Canada. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Ira Coron, California Amplifier chief executive, said shipments are expected to start in the third quarter.
“The choice of California Amplifier gives us a viable supplier known for its superior quality,” said Bill Barrett, president of Star Choice Marketing. “Star Choice plans to grow its subscriber base to 200,000 subscribers over the next 18 months.”
California Amplifier manufactures products for the reception of microwave signals used primarily in the delivery of multichannel television.
