Thief Yanks Driver Out Broken Window
A carjacker smashed through the window of a woman’s pickup Monday at a freeway off-ramp, and yanked her through the jagged glass before stealing her truck, authorities said.
The driver, who was not identified, suffered only minor injuries and was treated at a hospital, according to Officer Angel Johnson of the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators were searching for witnesses to the 9:55 a.m. attack on the Imperial Highway offramp of the Orange Freeway.
“We really need some help on this one,” Johnson said. “Anyone who saw anything should call us.”
The attacker used a hammer to smash the window and drove west on Imperial Highway, Johnson said.
The truck is a white Dodge Dakota.
