Grants Offered to Performers, Artists

Performers and artists looking to showcase their work at the Civic Arts Plaza can apply for grants to help underwrite their productions and exhibits.

Thanks to a $25,000 grant from the biotechnology firm Amgen Inc., as well as contributions from the nonprofit Alliance for the Arts and the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation, the city’s Theatres Department is accepting grant applications. The deadline is Aug. 16.

“Amgen, which is headquartered in Thousand Oaks, the foundation and the alliance are all interested in nurturing our community organizations and their performances and exhibits at the Civic Arts Plaza,” foundation President Harry Selvin said in a news release.
