Crushers Defeat Vigilantes

Sonoma County scored in each of the first four innings off the Vigilantes’ Daniel Ehler and went on to a 7-4 victory Tuesday night in the first game of a four-game Western Baseball League series at Rohnert Park.

The Crushers (23-12) took a 6-2 lead after four innings. They lead the Southern Division by six games. The Vigilantes are 15-20, last in the division. Ehler (1-5) lasted 3 2/3 innings, giving up six runs, eight hits and two walks.

Catcher Eric Brooks and first baseman Corey Parker supplied most of the offense for Mission Viejo. Brooks had three hits, including his first home run of the season, drove in two runs and scored three. Parker had two hits and two RBIs. The Vigilantes left 11 runners on base.

The teams play again this afternoon, the second of seven consecutive games between them.
