Vasquez, Laterza of the Zodiac to Sign Contracts With Galaxy

Share

The Galaxy has announced it will sign two players from the Zodiac, its A-League affiliate. The players are Jose Vasquez, a forward who has missed the Zodiac’s last five games because of an injured left foot, and midfielder Gerardo Laterza.

Vasquez, 28, who played at Santa Ana High and Rancho Santiago College, is expected to be cleared to play again in the next week. He played for the Galaxy last season--although he was sidelined for much of it because of a broken right foot--before being waived Feb. 28. Laterza, 23, from Walnut, made his Zodiac debut June 13.

The Galaxy is working on a deal with Zodiac defender Peter Lak, a former Cal State Fullerton standout.
