From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A wealthy dentist and his daughter were acquitted in a St. Paul, Minn., court of hiring a shoplifter to steal such luxuries as Baccarat crystal, Armani suits and Polo sportswear, but the man’s wife was convicted on one of two felony charges. Gerald Dick, Judy Dick and their daughter, Chicago lawyer Stacy Zehren, were accused of paying a thief to go into Dayton’s department store and steal the items. The jury decided that Judy Dick tried to buy goods she knew were stolen, but didn’t conspire with other family members to buy the merchandise.
