Zodiac Ends Skid With Shootout Win

The Zodiac snapped a six-game losing streak with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Minnesota Thunder in an A-League soccer game Saturday night at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn.

Gustavo Leal scored an unassisted goal for the Zodiac in the 22nd minute and the Thunder’s Amos Magee tied it with a goal in the 79th minute.

The Zodiac’s Orlando Perez, Alex Mingo and Kevin Grimes each made their penalty kicks; the Thunder missed its first three kicks.

Zodiac goalie Mike Gartlan faced 21 shots and made nine saves.

The Zodiac is 6-10; the Thunder is 5-9.
