Lobo’s 18 Points Lift New York
Rebecca Lobo scored 18 points, her best offensive showing so far in the WNBA, to lead the New York Liberty to a 68-57 victory over the Cleveland Rockers before an announced crowd of 6,749 in Cleveland’s Gund Arena on Monday.
It was the second consecutive victory for New York (9-2). Cleveland (3-7) is winless against Eastern Conference teams.
Janice Braxton scored 18 points for Cleveland.
Houston 79, Utah 56--Wanda Guyton and Janeth Arcain each scored 17 points to lead the Comets past the Starzz before an announced crowd of 6,882 at The Summit.
Utah’s Elena Baranova had eight points and five rebounds in the first half as Utah (3-8) pulled within 32-25 at halftime.
But Baranova scored only one second-half basket, and Houston (7-4) pulled away.
