College Ready to Start Building Vocational Center
Compton College is nearly ready to start building a $19-million vocational technology building that campus officials hope will attract welfare recipients who want to learn computer, business and machine skills.
Construction workers this week began fencing off a parking and recreational area on the western portion of the campus. Groundbreaking is expected to take place soon on that site for the two-story, 72,000-square-foot Ralph C. Dills Vocational Technology Center, a college spokesman said.
