Share

Opponent--Ottawa Wheels

Site--The Pond

Time--7:30

Records--Bullfrogs (7-8), Wheels (7-5-1)

Bullfrogs update--Bullfrog President Stuart Silver, scouting players at the World In-Line Hockey Championship, said he stands behind Coach Brad McCaughey, despite a franchise-record five consecutive losses. But he was adamant about signing Hugo Belanger, the 1996 Roller Hockey International player of the year, who is skating with Canada. Canada plays Switzerland today at 4:30 p.m., so Belanger could play with the Bullfrogs tonight at the Pond. Another former Bullfrog, Orlando defenseman Daniel Shank, has talked to Anaheim about a trade. He reportedly is unhappy playing for first-year Jackals Coach Steve Martinson.

Wheels update--This will be the first RHI interconference game played by the Bullfrogs. The game was made necessary when San Diego and Toronto folded the week before the season started. There will be a distinctive San Diego flavor to the game: The Wheels, who are being run by the league, will be wearing the old Barracuda uniforms. They rolled past the Blades, 10-8, Thursday, overcoming a two-goal third-quarter deficit.
