Chateau Marmont East?
Well, the new Sunset Beach Inn on New York’s Shelter Island (near the Hamptons) does have the same owner, Andre Balazs, as the Sunset Strip landmark hotel. He acquired and renovated an existing hotel and reopened it this month. Whether the intimate, 20-room inn will attract as many celebrities as the Chateau Marmont, remains to be seen.
