Agencies to Participate in Government Day

Residents will have a chance to question representatives of local, state and federal agencies at the 17th annual Government Day on Saturday at Panorama Mall.

The government workers will primarily be from Los Angeles city and county agencies that provide personal and family support and services.

The free event, sponsored by county Board of Supervisors Chairman Zev Yaroslavsky, will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the mall, 8401 Van Nuys Blvd.

Yaroslavsky and Rep. Howard Berman (D-Mission Hills) are scheduled to be on hand in the afternoon.

Participating agencies include the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, California Department of Insurance, the Bureau of Family Support for the Los Angeles County district attorney, the county Department of Public Social Services, the LAPD, the Los Angeles City Fire Department, the Child Care Resource Center and the North Valley Occupational Center.
