Vigilantes Cruise Past Reno, 13-5

The Vigilantes avenged Tuesday’s loss to Reno by pounding the Chukars, 13-5, in a Western Baseball League game Wednesday night at Moana Stadium in Reno.

Paul Anderson had 12 strikeouts while pitching his fourth complete game of the season and earned his third victory for the Vigilantes.

Carl Nichols, who went three for five with four runs batted in, started the Vigilantes romp in the first inning with a three-run home run. By the fourth inning, the Vigilantes had a 11-2 lead.

Alan Burke hit his 13th home run of the season for the Vigilantes and teammate Bret Barberie hit his sixth.

The Vigilantes improved to 4-6 for the second half of the season.

Darrell White (0-3) took the loss for Reno (7-3 for the second half).
