True Hanson Fans Get It

Share

I would like to say how much I appreciated the article on Hanson having the No. 1 single so far this year (“MMMPop, The 10 Best Singles So Far,” July 16), with one exception. The article states, “There’s probably not one ‘MMMBop’ fan in 100 who can tell you what the song is about. . . .” I disagree with this. Anyone who is a Hanson fan, or truly likes the song “MMMBop,” has listened to the song enough to understand what it means. The song says, “You have so many relationships in this life, only one or two will last. . . .” Then it goes on to say, “In an MMMBop, they’re gone. In an MMMBop, they’re not there.” As for the phrase “MMMBop,” it symbolizes an instant, a moment, and how short some relationships seem to last.
