Head of Presbytery Will Retire Sept. 30
The Rev. Robert Fernandez, regional executive since 1990 for Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys, has announced he will retire Sept. 30 after 41 years in the ordained ministry.
The San Fernando Presbytery, based in Panorama City, includes more than 30 churches from La Canada to Lancaster.
In May, Fernandez received a certificate in the Art of Spiritual Direction from the San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Upon retirement, he said he plans to lead spiritual formation retreats and serve a church with his new skills.
