Zodiac update--Coach Tony Cerna’s job of trying to find competitive combinations has been made difficult by injuries and the needs of the Galaxy, which has signed three Zodiac players and is borrowing goalkeeper Marco Cerna this weekend. Meanwhile, the Zodiac has lost seven of its last eight games. The only positive result in that span was a shootout victory at Minnesota July 12. Today’s game will be taped by Fox Sports West for broadcast at 3 a.m. Monday. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Umbro water bottle.

Thunder update--Like the Zodiac, Minnesota is affiliated with the Galaxy of Major League Soccer. The Thunder had its two-game winning streak ended Friday, losing to the California Jaguars, 3-0, in Salinas.
