Man Dies After Being Shot in Head While Sitting in Car
A 24-year-old man was shot in the head Sunday night as he sat in his car in the 9000 block of 4th Avenue in Inglewood, the city’s sixth homicide this year.
Inglewood resident Jerry Wayne Williams Jr. was sitting in his car talking with two men when a white car pulled up at about 11:40 p.m., Police Sgt. Tom Rowson said.
“Without any dialogue at all, the driver of the white car pointed a gun and fired one shot at the victim,” Rowson added.
Williams, who was shot in the head, was taken to Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood, where he was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m.
Investigators believe the case may be drug-related, Rowson said.
