* Update--Finley goes for his seventh consecutive victory and first place on the Angels’ list of winners today. He’s tied with Nolan Ryan at 138 victories. Finley gave up one run and seven hits with nine strikeouts in seven innings in his last start, a 5-4 victory Friday over the Boston Red Sox. He is 6-0 with a 2.32 earned-run average in July. During his winning streak, Finley has averaged more than eight strikeouts a start and pitched at least six innings in each. Clark was 5-0 to start the 1988 season with the Angels, but has won only four major league games since. He has been with six organizations, the Indians and Houston Astros twice each, since the Angels released him after the 1989 season.
