TIMES STAFF AND WIRES

Paris city authorities, bowing to years of complaints from local residents about the traffic, last week indefinitely banned tour buses from the picturesque Montmartre quarter of the French capital. Buses will now have to park at the bottom of the hill while tourists will ascend on foot or on the funicular railway. About 6 million people visit the quarter every year. . . . You can now get married aboard the vintage Skunk Train, which runs 40 miles between Fort Bragg and Willits, Calif. The train rental ranges from $900 (one car) to $9,400 (steam engine plus nine cars); per-person costs, on top of that, vary. Information: (800) 77-SKUNK.
